Terms of service.
The plain-language terms under which we rent virtual phone numbers. Last updated 27 October 2026.
1. The service
Virtual Numbers rents virtual phone numbers hosted by licensed carriers and number providers in each country. A rental gives you the exclusive use of the number for the term you pay for, with inbound SMS delivered to your dashboard and, where the country supports it, voice calls and outbound messaging billed per use. Numbers remain the property of the carrier; you rent the use of them.
Availability, number types and prices vary by country. The price and term are confirmed by email before any payment is taken, and that confirmation forms the order.
2. Acceptable use
You may use a number for lawful purposes only: business lines, personal privacy, registering accounts you are entitled to hold, and receiving messages intended for you. You may not use a number for spam, fraud, harassment, impersonation, bypassing bans you have received from a service, or any activity that breaches the terms of the carrier or of the service you register the number with.
One number may be registered on one account per app. Registering the same number on several accounts of the same service, or reselling access to a number, is not allowed. We suspend numbers used in breach of this section without refund and may report abuse to the carrier.
3. Terms, renewals and cancellation
Rentals run for the term you choose: one month, three months or twelve months. Terms renew automatically on the same number unless you cancel before the renewal date, from the dashboard or by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term; the number is then released and may be reassigned after a holding period.
4. Refunds
If we cannot provision a number you have paid for, we refund the payment in full. If a number stops receiving messages because of a carrier fault we cannot fix within five business days, we replace it or refund the remaining term. We do not refund unused months of a prepaid term after a number has been delivered, and we do not refund because a particular third-party service refused the number, since we say before you order which services are known to reject virtual numbers.
5. Delivery and third-party services
We deliver messages and calls that the carrier passes to us. We cannot guarantee that any particular app, bank or service will accept a virtual number or deliver a code to it; those services change their rules without notice. We describe what usually works and what usually does not on each country and solution page.
6. Liability
Our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the affected rental in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or losses caused by a third-party service refusing or disconnecting a number.
7. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email at least fourteen days before they take effect. Questions about these terms go to [email protected].
